Can Luck Egalitarians Condemn Exploitation?

Luck egalitarians hold that there should be equality, apart from where persons are, in some sense, responsible for the inequality that pertains between them. In this paper, I argue that this thesis is not able to adequately ground a moral account of exploitation and this suggests a major incompleteness in luck egalitarian theorising. The argument proceeds through a critical examination of the work of G.A. Cohen as the luck egalitarian theorist who has offered the most sophisticated account of exploitation.
