Virtual Modeling and Additive Manufacturing Course (Nov-Dec 2016)

Personal Projects [A.A. 2016/2017]

The Virtual Modeling and Additive Manufacturing course aims at providing the theoretical basis of 3D printing, in response to the increasing demand from industrial, civil engineering, architecture, and medical application fields. In the context of 3D printing, basic classes on materials, theoretical and virtual modeling, potential applications, impact on business models and competitiveness are taught.

Additive manufacturing represents an enabling technology opening the doors to applications in different fields: engineering-industry-architecture (from the materials, prototyping, building components point of view), chemistry-pharmacology (biocompatible and drug release devices), medicine (patient-specific models and prostheses), economics (technology diffusion, sustainability, business models), liberal arts (cinematography and art).
