Sassari

The Research Unit located at the University of Sassari (Dipartimento di Scienze Umanistiche e Sociali) consists of Giovanni Strinna and, in relation to the 2016-2017 year, by Giuseppe Mascherpa, who are involved in investigating religious literature (specifically, the genre of the sermon) and the odeporic one.

Within the vast repertory of homilies in vulgar, mostly unpublished, the Unit will concentrate primarily on a selection of published sermons including the homiliary of Maurice de Sully, Bishop of Paris (the most prominent of its kind in the manuscript tradition).

Investigations of the travel literature genre will focus primarily on the Devisement du monde by Marco Polo.
