Pavia

The Research Unit located at the University of Pavia (Dipartimento di Studi umanistici) is lead by Federico Saviotti (PI) and focuses on Romance lyric poetry.

The selected research corpus includes the love songs by some of the most important troubadours and trobairitz of the 12th century (William of Poitiers, Cercamon, Jaufre Rudel, Bernart de Ventadorn, Raimbaut d’Aurenga, Beatritz de Dia, Raimbaut de Vaqueiras), trouvères of the 12th and 13th centuries (Chrétien de Troyes, Conon de Béthune, Gace Brulé, Blondel de Nesle, Thibaut de Champagne, Adam de la Halle) and Italian poets before the Stilnovo (Giacomo da Lentini, Guido Guinizzelli, Guittone d’Arezzo).
