Reserved Room
The Reserved room provides reference works and support studies that users can consult independently.
These works, excluding the loan, cover different disciplines:
- Heraldry
- Art
- Bible
- Catholic Church
- Philology
- Philosophy
- Geography
- Legislation
- European literature
- Greek and Latin Literature
- Italian literature
- Linguistics
- Music
- Numismatics
- Paleography
- History
In the reserved room there are universal dictionaries and classic languages dictionaries along with a pavia region section.
The seats reserved for scholars are 14, plus a station with a microfilm viewer and one with a computer.
Users are required to observe the current legislation regarding copyright and the Code of ethics and good conduct for the processing of personal data for historical purposes.
In the Reserved room manuscripts (Aldini Stock, Ticinesi Stock, Autographs Stock) old books rare and valuable and special collection are available for consultation. There are no limits on the number of requests for consultation of manuscripts and rare but they are delivered to the user one at a time. All the users of the library, during opening time, are allowed in the reserved room. Limits to consultation can be caused by:
- temporary unavailability for undergo conservative intervention and restoration
- reorganization and inventory (for special collection)
- precarious state of conservation.
In order to safeguard the documentary heritage, the Library reserves the right to consult instead of the original of the document requested, reproductions, where available, in any medium.
