Knowledge of the medieval and moderna art ( from Thirteenth to Seventeenth century)
Learning outcomes
Objective of the course is the reading of the subject of the artwork in order to understand the deep meanings that the artist wanted to give it and to identify the literary and visual sources .
Course contents
The course will examine the evolution of religious iconography in Italian art before and after the Council of Trent , and analyze changes urged by the Catholic reform and the post-conciliar theoretical reflections .

Lectures, visits to museums or churches and exercises.
