Learning outcomes
The course introduces to the major theoretical issues and significant currents of philosophical thought from Kant to the present, through the study of selected texts and literature, and explores a theme, a text or an author of particular importance for the history of contemporary philosophy, through critical analysis of works, of methodological issues and of more meaningful interpretations.
Course contents
The Transcendental Aesthetic and the Transcendental Analytic of Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason.
The first part of the course will discuss the key issues and the most important philosophers in the history of philosophy from Kant to Nietzsche.
The second part of the course – monographic in character - covers reading and discussion of the two mentioned parts of Kant's work, taking into account the historical origin of the problems discussed, and also in reference to some of the most significant interpretations developed later.

Assessment methods
The test on the first part of the course (institutional part) has to be taken in written form. The test has to be passed before the oral examination concerning the second part (monographic part).
Students are allowed to take the written test immediately after the end of the first trimester (beginning of November) or in special sessions in Januar/Februar, in June/July and in September.
The test serves as one of the three papers requested to be admitted to the three-years degree, as established in the didactic disposition.
