Course contents
In a long-term and compared perspective, the course will follow the reflection, the claim and the affirmation of human rights in the light of political and religious conflicts in Europe between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries and of the meeting and the clash between European civilization and cultures outside Europe.

Assessment methods
The students attending the course will write and discuss a paper on a subject which will be decided during the course. As for the oral exam, see the bibliography above.
Non-attending students will plan their exam (oral and written) with the course lecturer, at the beginning of the course.
