Prerequisites
French Literature A advanced: candidates in the Modern Language Faculty must have passed the third-year examination in French literature.

French Literature B advanced; candidates in the Modern Langauage Faculty must have passed the A c.p. examination in French literature.
Learning outcomes
The course is based on those historical and critical rudiments which students will have acquired. The aim is to broaden the student’s literary awareness and to develop a variety of methodological and cultural competences and an adequate approach to literary texts in French.
Course contents
French Literature A advanced.
Students are required to attend 54 hours of lectures worth 9 credits (1st and 2nd Terms)
Structural and Thematic Analysis of Gustave Flaubert's L'Education sentimentale (1869).

French Literature B advanced.
Students are required to attend 72 hours of lectures worth 12 credits (1st and 2nd Terms):
Structural and Thematic Analysis of Gustave Flaubert's L'Education sentimentale (1869) and Un coeur simple (1877).
