Learning outcomes
Within the framework of the evolving nature of libraries in modern and contemporary age, the course will address a selection of topics including the cultural, social, urban and architectural roles played by libraries in Italy as well as in other countries.
Course contents
Library history in modern age: trends and methodology.
Italian libraries from the Unification.
The role of the library in contemporary society.
Library architecture.
Teaching methods
Lessons will include lectures as well as presentations given by the students either independently or in collaboration with others.
