Evaluation and improving of personal skills and attitudes about communication in dentistry
Course contents
The course of psychology offers a reflection on the fundamentals of dentist-patient communication, with personalized attention to the characteristics of each student (skill /attitude). The objectives are:

knowing how to communicate in a concise, precise and respectful manner with patients and colleagues;

collect a brief but well-structured medical history, covering all essential aspects, including those related to age, sex, socioeconomic status and genetic / family conditions;

knowing how to program a complete and specific physical examination

knowing how to inform about the execution of acts and technical procedures, adapting communication to the patient's characteristics

knowing how to communicate the results of the most common diagnostic tests

knowing how to inform about the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of the most common and important dental conditions;

being able to discuss the main therapeutic options

knowing how to present a case report to a group of colleagues, choosing medical history information, signs and symptoms relevant to the situation in question, also facing differential diagnostic aspects
