Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with principles and methods related to the protection of health and prevention of risks deriving from exposure to the main agents or risk factors present in the health field. At the end of the course the student must know and know how to apply the methodological procedure of qualitative and quantitative determination of the risk deriving from exposure to different agents or factors present in the health field. For each agent or risk factor, the student must be able to identify hazards, identify appropriate methods to assess the exposure and characterize the risk, propose appropriate prevention and risk management measures.
Course contents
The program includes 16 hours of lessons, the topics covered are:
- Environments for medical use and workplaces
- Medical devices and electromedical devices
- Criteria for the evaluation of health and safety risks
- Electrical risk
- Biological risk
- Chemical risk and chemotherapy
- Fire risk
- Risk of explosion and medical gases
- Physical risks and microclimate
- Manual handling of loads
- Health and safety management
- Collective and individual protection devices

The course is organized in lectures.

There is no reference text, the didactic material used during the lessons will be provided: slides and / or notes.
Assessment methods
The assessment of the learning will be carried out through the administration of tests with open and closed questions.
