At the end of the first year the student must know:

The basic concepts of the science of representation;
The methods of observation of the physical space of architecture and the environment, and the methods of analysis of visual messages;
The arrangements for critical analysis and expressive synthesis of architecture and its context
The geometrical analysis of the vaults systems and the classical orders of architecture;
The theory of form and the possible combinations of elementary shapes in the plane and in space, color theory;
The guiding principles of graphical analysis of architectural space and the methods for visualization of mental images.
