Prerequisites
A previous knowledge of the language at least at A.2 level (JLPT N5) is required.
Beginner students will have to arrange with the teacher an individual study plan to reach the required level.
Learning outcomes
The student will reach a pre-intermediate level of competence (B1.1) according to the CEFR standards.
Course contents
The course includes the study of lessons 19-23 from GENKI 2 textbook published by The Japan Times, and the acquisition of kanji and vocabulary presented in the aforementioned lessons. The acquisition of practical language skills will be achieved through written and oral exercises.

Assessment methods
The exam consists of a written test and an oral test. It is possible to take the oral exam only after passing the written test. In case of failing grades in both written and oral test, the student will not be able to repeat the exam in the same session.
Further information
The course is divided into two compulsory modules, Japanese I (second semester) and Japanese II
(first semester) of nine ECS each. Students are required to attend regularly both in class and in practice with the Japanese teacher, Professor Konno.
