Learning outcomes
This course aims to provide basic knowledge of written and spoken Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), introducing the alphabet and writing system, principles of grammar and syntax as well as simple set texts and basic conversation skills.
Course contents
In the first module, students will learn the writing, the phonology and the reading of the Arabic alphabet, along with the basic rules of Arabic grammar and morphology (roots and patterns) and the essential vocabulary to perform elementary conversations, in addition to the geographic and political terminology.

Assessment methods
The exam consists of written and oral tests. The written exam will consist in a short written comprehension and in grammar exercises. The oral exam will consist in a conversation with the mother tongue teacher.
Further information
A constant frequency of lessons is required, included the supplementary teaching classes with the mother tongue teacher.
