Learning outcomes
The main objectives of the course are to have students understand the major aspects of standardization, including the basic theory of standardization, the role of standardization in the field of engineering and more in general in a wider socio-economic context.
The second part of the course will focus on a few standards of particular relevance for the electrical engineering.
Course contents
Basic knowledge of standardization, methods and the procedures for making standards, relationship between standardization and international trade, and relationship between standardization and innovation. Case studies
