Learning outcomes
The course analyses China's contemporary history from the Opium Wars in the 19th century until the present.
Course contents
The first part of the course (20 hours) analyses Chinese history from the mid-19th century until the foundation of the People's Republic of China (PRC ) in 1949. The second part of the course analyses contemporary Chinese history from the end of World War II until the present.
Teaching methods
Students will be asked to participate actively and will asked to prepare and present a presentation (alone or in group work).
