Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop the language and communication skills needed by learners of English in scientific research or study environment. The focus will be on the development of lexical, grammatical and communicative competence, in order to make students able to understand and analyse scientific texts and specialistic essays.
Course contents
The course will deal with the main grammar and lexical topics of scientific English: the typical syntactic structures and verbal tenses of scientific texts; the functions of modal verbs in scientific language; connectors; the formation of specialised words and frequent collocations connected to scientific research

Interactive classes and supplemental didactic drills.
