Knowledge of the main ethical theories in the history of the western philosophy
Course contents
Course Title: Hobbes and Free Will

The course aims to discuss the view of one of the main 17th century philosophers, Thomas Hobbes, about the problem of free will and human responsibility, expressed in the discussion with Bishop Bramhall. The Hobbesian conception will be examined in the light of the contemporary debate on ethics and freedom of will.
