Learning outcomes
Knowledge of the fundamental issues about the relationship between philosophy and cognitive science
Course contents
The course is composed of an introductory part focusing on the models of human cognition, and of a second one dealing on a series of fundamental topics about the relationship between philosophy and cognitive science.

The first part will tackle the nature of cognitive theories, what they deal with, what questions they try to answer, what are the main controversies. More specifically, the main recent theories - namely the computational mind theory and the extended mind theory - will be analyzed and compared.

The second part will take into examination some research axes crucial for the relationship between cognitive science and philosophy. In particular:
-Cognition and evolution
-Cognition and religious belief
-Social cognition
-Cognition and technology
