Prerequisites
Knowledge of French language (level B1) is required to attend the course. Students must have passed both the written and the oral exams of French language to take the exam
Learning outcomes
The course aims at developing the ability of indipendent use of the French Language in its various skills and encourages, both orally and in the writing, the necessary mastery for a correct interaction at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference
Course contents
The aim of this course is to analyse the main syntactic French structures (predicative, final, causal, consecutive, if, concessive clauses...) also by a comparative Italian/French approach in order to favour tjeir responsible acquisition.
A brief module will be dedicated to the use of the monolingual dictionnary, in particular the Petit Robert, of which we will consider the structural features and the language/culture relationship it reveals
Concerning the CEL additional activity, which completes the course, you should check the general programme of French Language and Literature 2017-2018, with the information about the teaching materials, which you must absolutely have by the beginning of the activity

Assessment methods
The final exam consists in both a written text (a written comprehension questionnaire, level B2, of a journalistic text, without dictionnary, and grammar exercises on the model of those done during the course and present in the professor's lecture notes. The marking system, based on the evaluation in 1/20, will assess 10 marks for the answers to the questionnaire and 10 marks for the 6/7 exercises of French syntactic) and oral test (discussion about the written test and questions concerning the monographic course or, for students not attending the course, about the texts suggested).
