Learning outcomes
The purpose of the course is to deepen the basic knowledge of electronics
Course contents
BJT amplifiers
Physical structure of a BJT. Modes of operation. Direct current bias networks. . Small circuit equivalent circuits. Classical single stage transistor amplifiers. Multistage amplifiers. Cascode amplifier.Current mirror. Active load. Applications. Comparison between BJT and mosfet.

Operational amplifiers
Ideal and real operational amplifiers. Linear applications. The superdiode. Single wave and full wave precision rectifier. Non linear applications. Parameters of real operatinal amplifiers.

Output stages and power amplifiers
Definitions and classification of output stages and power amplifiers. Class A power amplifiers. Class B and AB power amplifiers. Efficency. Biasing circuits. Applications. Push-pull class AB power amplifier coupled with transformer.

Optpelectronics
Optoelectroni devices: photoresistances, photodiodes, phototransistors, LED. Semiconductor lasers. Applications. Optical fibers.

Sensors and microsensors
Sensors, transducers and applications. Temperture measurements. Magnetic field sensors. Piezoelectric devices. Applications.

MEMS and nanotechnologies
Elements of integrated circuits technologies. MEMS sensors and actuators. Applications. Nanotecnologies in electronics.
