Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the morphosyntactic stuctures of the German language (Level A2-B1)
Learning outcomes
The course aims at developing the students’ skills in analysis and description of the linguistic system and of the textual types of the German language in order to improve, also from a practical point of view, all the learners’ linguistic skills.
Course contents
The course will offer an overview of the forty-year German division after the second world war, and it will outline the modalities of the German reunification after the collapse of the GDR. Moreover, it will propose a selection of texts, characterised by the specific usage of the official language in the GDR, with particular regard to linguistic aspects.

The exam is in two parts:
- a propaedeutic written part, which consists of a language test and a reading comprehension
- an oral part on the topics of the course
