Course contents

In the course we will discuss, starting from texts that are now considered "classics", the topic of evaluation in education and educational evaluation as a cultural, pedagogic and political problem which reaches the core of the question of values underlying national educational systems. Reading John Dewey's text on the theory of evaluation will be the starting point of a reasoning on one of the main topics of today's debate, with particular reference to Western educational policies.
