Prerequisites
Language skills and abilities in German at the A1.2/A2.1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Attendance at the language classes of the Collaboratore ed Esperto Linguistico (Dott.ssa Heike Fremdling) at the CIM Course (Comunicazione, Innovazione e Multimedialità) - Oberkurs (Advanced Level).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able
- to use the main grammar structures and vocabulary in German at an A2.2/B1.1 level
- to understand and use autonomously a wide range of vocabulary related to political and social topics
- to comprehend, analyse and put into context a media product (article, web page, TV format, etc.) in German

The parallel activities of the Collaboratore ed Esperto Linguistico will introduce to the main grammar and lexical structures of the German language and deepen students active and passive communication skills at an A2.2/B1.1 level.
Course contents
Students will learn about the political and social system in Germany (politics, social and cultural topics, recent history) and basic aspects of the
use of the German language in different political and social contexts.

Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge regarding specific language and vocabulary features in political and social contexts as well as learn how to connect current political or social events to a wider context.
Teaching methods
The didactic method includes innovative teaching approaches ("flipped classroom", collaborative learning) as well as various interactive exercises
in class in order to stimulate the use of the foreign language as well as shared moments of thoughts about the German political and social
system.

Regarding the lessons of the Advanced Learners (Oberkurs):
A list of the necessary material will be distributed by Dott.ssa Fremdling at the beginning of the course.

Assessment methods
The final exam is divided into two parts:

1) A WRITTEN TEST regarding the program of the language lessons (Dott.ssa Fremdling / livello A2.2/B1.1), which tests skills and abilities in grammar, vocabulary, written and oral comprehension.
Students who have an official language certification (B1 and higher) are not obliged to do the written comprehension, but only need to take the oral test.
The written test is valid for 12 months.

2) An ORAL EXAM regarding the course "Lingua Tedesca" on behalf of Prof.ssa Berndt

In order to have access to the oral exam you need to pass the written test with a minimum mark of 18/30.

The oral exam regards
1) the theoretical part of the course (to be discussed in German or Italian):
- Politik in der Demokratie
- Deutschland vor und nach der Wende
- Menschen und Gesellschaft

2) the practical part of the course:
Presentation in German of a "German media product" (newspaper article, web site, TV format, ... ), related to a current event discussed in the German media and related to the theoretical part of the course; analysis of linguistic items in the "media product" (grammar or vocabulary aspects); contextualization of the content proposed in the presentation and connection to theoretical aspects.

The topic of the "media product" can be chosen by the student, but needs to be agreed upon with the teacher of the course (Prof.ssa Berndt). The material to be discussed (links, ecc.) needs to be sent to the attention of Prof.ssa Berndt at least 48 hours before the oral exam.

DIDATTICA INTEGRATIVA (Mothertongue language classes):

Students of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Lingua Tedesca 2 course are supposed to attend the Didattica Integrativa Course - Oberkurs (40 hours / first semester) of Dott.ssa Fremdling.

The timetable of the classes of Dott.ssa Fremdling will be published on the website of the Corso di Studi in CIM.
