Theoretical and practical aspects of groundwater contamination problems are dealt with in this course, with a practical exercise assignment concerning a case of pollutants dispersion in an aquifer and the "design" of a decontamination intervention with the use of computer models of professional practical use. The most interesting intervention technologies for contaminated sites are critically reviewed in view of the theoretical notions earlier studied. Finally, theorerical foundations and some applicative programmes concerning the Risk evauation procedure" for contaminated sites are illustrated. Seminars by external professionals on specific topics are also foreseen.
