Course contents
The Cytopathology is a branch of Biology which has for object the study of cellular alterations for diagnostic purposes. It uses many techniques of traditional , cytochemical, immunocytochemical, immunofluorescence staining, in situ hybridization and molecular tests.
The program of the course provides:
1-to learn methods of fixation, staining and inclusion of different biological samples;
2- to observe with light microscope the preparations obtained,
3-to be familiar with basic concepts in diagnostic cellular and tissue level of : A-cells of the hematopoietic system in normal, pathological and experimental conditions; B-cells of the nervous system in normal and pathological conditions
The course will be completed with notions of exfoliative cytology which is the study of exfoliated cells spontaneously or mechanically removed.
