Learning outcomes
The concept of “romanisation” from a political and cultural point of view, according with the international debate about the signs that roman imperialism left in the provinces.
Course contents
The course will concerne a few towns of Iberian Provinces and Gallia Narbonensis: Tarraco/Tarragona, Corduba/Cordoba, Augusta Emerita/Mérida, Arelate/Arles with a particular attention to the spaces and buildings in which the exhibition of imperial power and cult takes place, and to the images-propaganda (imperial statues and reliefs: Hüftmanteltypus, Jupiter-Kostüm II, Kore-typus, .).
