Course contents
The course will introduce the students to the main concepts of phrase-, sentence- and text-syntactical cohesion, also referring to particularly complex and ambiguous structures. Topics will also be discussed also contrastively with Italian. Analytical tools worked out in classes will then be applied to a wide selection of authentic texts, highlighting especially the different functions of language and textuality.

Non-attending students will have to show they have developed a good knowledge of basic concepts and questions of advanced grammar and text linguistic based on the given bibliography

Students are furthermore asked to acquire the basic sociolinguistic topics about the German language by reading selected parto of: La lingua tedesca. La storia, i testi: DIALEKTE, GRAMMATIKSCHREIBUNG, JIDDISCH, PERIODISIERUNG, SPRAHPFLEGE.

Students are furthermore asked to study two chapters of Deutsch Aktuell (see Bibliography). The discussion on these topics will be in German.

There will be tutorials for exercising the analytical skills acquired during the course. Students will be asked to work on specific exercises to practically integrate the theoretical frameworks. The exercises are part of the exam program.

In addition to the Course, there is ‘didattica integrativa’ with C.E.L.s (Collaboratori ed esperti linguistici), in which students should develop writing, listening, speaking and grammar skills at the B1/B2 level (Common European Framework)
