Morphemics of Greek and Latin nouns and verbs in Indoeuropeistic perspective.

Program:

For attending students

- Deep Knowledge of the problems discussed during the lectures.
- Study of the Chapters 2 and 3 (Greece and Rome) of R.H. Robins, Storia della linguistica (trad.it.), Bologna 1977
- Reading, translation and commentary of Dionysius Thrax, Techne Grammatike, and of Quintilian, Institutio Oratoria 1,4,1 - 1,5,72 as well as of other short texts discussed during the lectures, distributed in photocopies and then made available on Kiro.

For not attending students

Provided that, for the specificity of the topics covered, frequency is highly recommended, not attending students should replace the step 1 of the previous program with personal study of the following manuals:
- A. Aloni (ed.), La lingua dei Greci. Corso propedeutico, Roma 2003, p. 73-141, in addition to insights available online at http://www.carocci.it.
- C . Tagliavini, Fonetica e morfologia storica del latino, Bologna 1962, pp. 121-156.
They will, however, be required to take contact with the lecturer in order to agree on a plan of alternative readings.
