Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the electrical circuits and to the use of the electrical measuring instrumentations.
Course contents
Study of the fundamental electrical circuits, with passive and active, linear and non linear elements. From the resistive divider to the AM radio receiver. Each topic illustrated during the lecture is followed by a practical experience in a laboratory equipped with standard instrumentation.
Teaching methods
The course is based on front side lectures and laboratory activities. Video-lab sessions are introduced in which the experiences and measures to be performed are interactively explained.

Reccomended or required readings
C.K. Alexander e M.N.O. Sadiku, Circuiti Elettrici, McGraw Hill (2008).

Assessment methods
Throughout the examination, students will be assigned a randomly selected circuit from those studied in the course. They will be required to bias the circuit if it includes active components and to analyze it from different perspectives using sinusoidal, square, or triangular signals. Students will need to perform measurements of the circuit's essential parameters using an oscilloscope, both in the time and frequency domains, and subsequently describe its theoretical properties. The exam will then extend to other theoretical concepts learned during the course, proceeding orally by describing other circuits and their respective properties
