Learning outcomes
The educational objective of the course is to provide students with the cultural bases and technical knowledge necessary for the understanding of the building organism from the constructive and operating point of view. At the end of the course the student must have acquired the ability to read and draft a simple building project in the constituent parts, even at the executive level, with sufficient technical expertise.
Course contents
Aim of the course is to give students cultural and technical basic skills useful for the understanding of the building organism from design and construction as well as from functioning point of view, for the purpose of building the architecture. The student is required to analyze the design principles that govern the construction of buildings and learning the most common techniques for the technological units of structures, closures and partitions. The study of the technical elements and building components is dealt both individually and in theirs belonging to a system, with a methodological approach to performance (needs, requirements analysis of typological-environmental as well as technological performance). The student must acquire specific terminology, static principles, the most common types of construction, without neglecting materials and components innovative for the building sustainability, the living comfort and the energy performances.
