Learning outcomes
The course aims to highlight the strategies that can facilitate and stimulate the learning of primary and secondary school students about natural science discipline
Course contents
Introduction to the Course. Basic pedagogical aspects. How to recognize and develop the fundamental qualities to teach: competence, enthusiasm and motivation. Teaching material, in addition to textbooks (for example: video analysis on YouTube).
Cell and living beings. Genetics and cell reproduction. From biological molecules to the development of living through evolutionary processes of adaptation to the environment. Evolutionary theories. Levels of organization of living systems. Evolution of man. Textures, organs and apparatus of animals and plants. Useful organisms to stimulate macroscopic observations and observations on the environment. Mushrooms, organisms useful for a microbiology approach. The course will include botanical and mycology laboratories with didactic goals, human body teaching workshops and interactive lessons with participants in the Teaching Unit Preparation Course.
Teaching methods
Frontal and experimental lessons. A lesson with collective discussion on the presentation of Learning Units by students

Assessment methods
Oral examination. Presentation of a Learning Unit on subjects chosen by the student.
Besides, the knowledge of the topics discussed will be tested.
Further information
The course is structured in two units of 3 CFU each: one focuses on basic science teaching (mainly aimed at teaching in class A28), the other hand will provide tools for a more advanced level of knowledge (mainly aimed at teaching in class A50).
