Learning outcomes
The course will give students the methodological tools and basic notions concerning the materials, working processes and conservation-related aspects for a technical approach to artworks.
Course contents
After a methodological introduction to the study of artistic techniques, the main pictorial and sculptural techniques (mural painting, painting on panel and canvas, manuscript illumination, mosaic, sculpture in wood, stone, bronze, clay) will be examined through the historical and scientific information given by written and material sources
