Learning outcomes
The course aims to reflect on the main theoretical frameworks about cinema and media. The lessons are designed to provide students with the methodological tools to conduct archival research, learning to interpret the different types of available materials, preliminary documents, promotional material, magazines, photographs, archival sources. In this context it will be possible to carry out exercises on precious materials of Davide Turconi Archive.
Course contents
The course offers a theoretical survey on the filmic rewriting of the text by examining the concepts of adaptation, intertextuality and intermediality, remake, the novelization.The filmic analysis that range through different historical and cultural contexts, allow a wide survey on the historiography of film and a in-depth analysis of archival research practices.
