Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of the history of Western thought is required

Learning outcomes

One of the main goals of the course is to provide epistemological and historiographical tools for understanding and comparing images of sciences and scientific processes in different period of Western thought

Course contents

The course focuses on the epistemological and doctrinal developement of medieval Latin alchemy and its relationship with scholastic natural philosophy and medicine (12th-15th centuries)
