Basic knowledge of informatics
Learning outcomes
Methods, tools and standards aimed at promoting cultural heritage through the creation of digitali resources will be discussed. Markup languages and the reuse of digital material will be among the main topic.
Attention will be given to the growing role played by collaborative platforms in publishing research data.
Course contents
Text markup languages.
Collaborative platforms for research in the humanities.
Digital publication projects in the fields of archaeology and the arts.
Teaching methods
The course will be held as a seminar. Following a brief presentation of the state of the art, students will be asked to analyse and evaluate a set of digital resources. An exercise of text markup will also be carried out. An active participation (at least 2/3 of the lessons) is therefore highly desirable.

Assessment methods
Students will be asked to describe and assess a digital project in the field of archaeology and/or art history.
Basic skill in text markup will also be required.
