Learning outcomes
This course aims at illustrating the diachronic aspects of educational phenomena of particular significance today and throughout history; it also aims at highlighting the historical nexus between pedagogical experience and philosophical knowledge, mainly as far as institutions and projects were concerned.

This class is also designed to illustrate some specific methods of historical reconstruction of facts and ideas that are peculiar to didactic experiences, applying such analysis to a specific group of events; it also aims at analyzing past experiences not strictly institutional in an attempt to clarify their educational function with reference to their social and cultural ecology.
Course contents
This class will take place during the first half of the first semester.
Course title:"Ideas of school, teacher,student and Citizen from Casati law to today". In the course we will discuss some turning points in the history of the Italian national education system, from Casati law to the present day, with particular reference to the connection between a given idea of school, teacher, student and citizen and without neglecting the topic of teacher training in a diachronic perspective, with particular reference to secondary-school teachers, also in a comparative perspective with other European States.
Teaching methods
All the professor's lessons aim at favouring student's active participation and interactive dialogue in group work. The participation of other professors/researchers/experts with an interest in the course topic is possibile.
