Learning outcomes
The course explores a theme, a text or an author of particular importance for the history of philosophy from Kant to the present, through critical analysis of works, of methodological issues and of more meaningful interpretations.
Course contents
The course is devoted to the analysis of Heidegger's interpretation of Nietzsche's philosophy, with particular reference to the fragments and aphorisms known as the "Will to Power". For this purpose, the development of Nietzsche's thought will first be discussed, also referring to the philological problems encountered in dealing with these texts. Next, we will outline the overall perspective that guides Heidegger's approach, highlighting his conception of the history of metaphysics. In the end, a critical evaluation of the interpretative solutions proposed for the fundamental themes of the last Nietzsche, namely the concepts of will to power, of eternal return and of superman, will be developed.
