Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at providing the knowledge needed to understand the functioning of different economic systems in the world.
Course contents
1) Economic growth in the history of economic thought: Smith, Ricardo, Marx, Shumpeter, Keynes, Harrod-Domar, Lewis;
2) The neoclassical model of economic growth;
3) Diseguaglianza e crescita;
4) Catch un in emerging countries;
5) Economic growth in China;
6) Economic growth in India;
7) Economic growth in South Korea;
8) Economic growth in Brazil;
9) Global Value Chains and economic growth;
10) Foreign Direct Investments and economic growth.
Teaching methods
The course is based on lectures and seminars. Students will be asked to participate actively during the course.
