PESTARINO ROSSANO (titolare) - 6 ECTS

Good knowledge of the major authors of Italian literature, especially from the beginnings to the Renaissance, as acquired during the first two years.

Knowledge of the philological method in editing literary texts, both applied to medieval works and the manuscript tradition of unknown scribes and the autographs of the major authors of Italian literature.

Aim of the course is to give an extended view of the theoretical principles of philology and to illustrate several important cases in Italian literature from its beginnings to the Renaissance period.

Lectures and materials that the students will be provided with during the course and whose knowledge will be part of the final examination, along with the textbook.
