Learning outcomes
This course aims to analyze five of the main problems discussed by contemporary aesthetics: the aesthetic judgment, aesthetic categories, the problem of fiction, the definition of art and its objectuality. These problems will be declined at first through their conceptualization in Kant and, secondly, by taking into consideration Kant’s reception and assimilation by analytic aesthetics.
The aim is to give to students both the grounding tools for a study in aesthetics and a framing of the main problems characterizing the contemporary debate among scholars in aesthetics.
