Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide the basic language skills of the Modern Standard Arabic.
Course contents
In the first module, students will learn the writing, the phonology and the reading of the Arabic alphabet, along with the basic rules of the grammar and the performance of elementary conversations.
Teaching methods
Lectures with the help of tutorial DVDs.

Assessment methods
The exam consists of written and oral tests.
Further information
The course is divided into two compulsory modules: Arabic 1 (first semester) and Arabic 2 (second semester), 6 credits for each module; a third module, Arabic 3 (the following first semester), 6 credits, is optional.
