Prerequisites
Basic understanding of computer operation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to focus the connection between mathematics and automatic computation.
Students will be learned about widely used software packages and they will be aware of the available mathematical software tools.
Topics related to courses of the undergraduate degree will be put first.
Course contents
1. Automatic computation: basic concepts

2. General description of Matlab potentiality and main instructions. Graphics: 2D and 3D plots. Plots of sequences and recurrent sequences. Plots of series.

3. Implementation of simple algorithms

- entering commands
- matrices and arrays
- operators and elementary mathematical operations
- script and function M-file
- for, while, if-then-else commands
- matrix operations
- plots of elementary functions, logarithmic e semi-logarithmic scale plots;
- curve and surface plots
- polynomials: curve fitting, roots
- Toolboxes
