Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Remote Sensing for surveillance and Earth Observation, available from the undergraduate course "Introduzione al Telerilevamento/Introduction to Remote Sensing".
Learning outcomes
This course was conceived to enrich the background of students specializing in "Space Communication and Sensing" by exposing them to specific, edge-cutting research topics. Science and technique in aerospace today progress so fast that it is impractical to keep the pace on the regular courses. This additional course will make every year a choice among the leading, applicative, hot topics, connecting the theoretical lectures with the industrial applications. Speeches are planned by both professors and individuals from industry, research and spin-offs.
Course contents
The course programme changes every year as external speakers from industry, research centres and other universities are invited according to the most up-to-date trends in research and market.

Focus of 2013-2014
The focus of the course will be on Radar Systems, their evolution in recent years, and their future trends.
