Learning outcomes
The purpose of the course is to analyse, through the development of all the linguistic skills, in particular the problems concerning the verbal system of Russian language (aspects of the verb, verbs of motion).
The knowledge gained will enable the students to interact in communicative contexts relating to non-specialist subjects, to compose and understand texts with non-specialist subjects. The course can be attended by students who have already passed the exam of Russian Language 1.
Course contents
The Russian verbal system.

Particularity of the flexion of the verb: present, past, future, imperative, formation of aspectual pairs, meaning of prefixes and their influence on the verbs, imperfective and perfective aspects in its various meanings (process /result, contemporary/consequential, unity/repetition, observation, annulment, etc.); nuances of use of aspects. The space and temporal relations (including dates and times). Use of some collocations (fixed combinations verb + noun).

The verbs of motion: the use of the two groups of verbs of motion (unidirectional and multidirectional), the formation of the aspectual pairs of the verbs of motion; the meaning of prefixes and the use of verbs of motion with prefixes; the meaning of multidirectional verbs with prefixes, some verbs of motion used figuratively.

Communication skills: to ask for information, to give advices, to express desires, interests, preferences, short considerations and personal opinions; to propose how to spend free time; to interact (questions and answers) in communicative contacts with acquaintances and strangers; to write short informal and formal letters, to understand and describe simple texts, to write from dictation.
Listening, oral analysis and elaboration of dialogues of different themes and short texts.
