The aim of the course is to introduce students to the main concepts and the mainstream models of policy analysis in order to enable them to understand the process of policy making at different levels of government and in different policy sectors.

Defining public policies
Typologies of public policies
The heuristic of the “policy cycle”
Public problems, political entrepreneurship, political agenda.
The formulation of policy proposals
Decision and models of decision
Implementation : top-down and bottom-up models of implementation.
Policy evaluation.
