Prerequisites
Students must have passed the Political Science exam. The European Law course is also recommended.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with sufficient knowledge of European institutions and of the EU political process to enable them to comprehend the main problems of European integration and to make sense of the outcomes of the EU policy-making process.
Course contents
The course covers the institutions of the European Union: the European Commission; the Council of Ministers and the European Council;
the European Parliament, European elections and “Europarties”
the European Court of Justice and the main features of European law
other actors and institutions
Interest group politics in the EU
Theories of European integration and of the European policy making process
