Students should have passed the Political Science exam. The course on European Law is also recommended.
Learning outcomes
The course discusses policy making in the EU and how European policies have evolved in a number of policy sectors.
Course contents
The course considers the following issues: neo-institutional theory and the EU; the institutional design of the EU
-modes of European policy-making
-policy implementation in the EU
-the politics of interest representation
-policy-making in the EU and the role of knowledge
-regulatory policies :internal market and competition
-redistributive policies: common agricultural policy and cohesion policy
