Prerequisites
Knowledge acquired by attending the Basic Developmental Psychology Course. All basic knowledge in the key developmental domains across the life-cycle are requested, i.e. perception, cognition, neurodevelopment, socio-emotional, moral.
Learning outcomes

Main aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the different developmental domains in the light of the most recent and pivotal theories and empirical researches in order to provide the student with a reliable orientation on principal cues in both typical and atypical development. A realted aim is to provide means in order to be able to identify suitable interventions and to know some of the most reliable evidence based interventions with family and children.
The student, at the end of this course, is expected to be able to know how to identify typical and atypical developmental cues and to know differences among reliable interventions suitable for different periods of development.
Course contents

Topics of the course will be key factors implicated in the development that occurs under normative and at risk conditions (maltreatment, institutionalization). These issues will be addressed in relation to individual development, including the theme of the development of the parental role and actions in support of it.
Teaching methods
Lectures, presentation of videotaped material, assessment tools, discussion in large and smaller groups, individual reading and classroom discussion of leading international journal articles.
For each CFU (25 hours) is expected
4 hours of teaching in DE delivery mode, i.e frontal teaching (content presentation via slides, scientific papers and videos)
2 hours of interactive teaching - DI (guided exercises, small group work between peers, role-play, critical discussion in a small group on topics provided by the teacher)
19 hours of self-study on the texts of the course bibliography, on the slides provided and on the scientific articles indicated

Teaching will be in presence and news will be published on KIRO
Reccomended or required readings
The books to be prepared are the same for students attending or not attending the course.

The student is required to prepare two books, one of which is mandatory and the second is on his/her choice
